Details of this season's Sheffield and Hallamshire County Cup details have been announced this week. The County cup, which first originated in 1876, will see its 2023 final contested by two NCEL Premier division clubs as Emley AFC take on Maltby Main. Following a highly entertaining night under the lights against Sheffield FC in March, Maltby find themselves in their second consecutive County Cup final. Emley booked their place with an emphatic 7-0 victory of Nostell Miners Welfare back in February. Maltby have disposed of Northern Premier League East opposition on two occasions on their route to the final, defeating Stocksbridge and Sheffield FC through penalty shootouts. This experience could be vital if the scores were to remain level after extra time in the final. Maltby have scored 9 goals in their cup campaign, conceding just four in the process.
Emley have shown great confidence in the County Cup this year, scoring 16 goals across their four games; the most impressive being their demolition of Nostell Miners Welfare in the semi-final. After an impressive season the Pewits have every right to feel confident ahead of this highly anticipated cup clash.
The game will take place at Doncaster Rover's Eco Power Stadium with kick off scheduled for 7:30pm on Saturday 20th May.
Admission prices are £10 Adults and £5 concessions with under 10s being completely free.
